A Week to Rediscover Your Flow
March 2027
An intimate 6-day surf and yoga retreat in Nicaragua to reconnect with nature, your body, and your inner flow.
Limited to 12 participants
Your Fluir Retreat
Located on the Pacific coast of Southwestern Nicaragua, in Playa Maderas, FLUIR is a surf and yoga retreat designed to help you reconnect with your natural rhythm through movement, breath, and mindful rituals.
It’s the perfect experience for slowing down, recharging, and reconnecting, solo, with a friend, or as a couple. Just 2 hours from Managua International Airport, in a safe, quiet area, with private villas overlooking the ocean or jungle.
Mornings begin with Vinyasa or Hatha yoga, followed by surf sessions in warm, uncrowded waves. Evenings feature soulful practices — sound healing, cacao ceremony, ecstatic dance, Yin, or Yoga Nidra. There’s also plenty of space to journal, relax, and simply reconnect with yourself.
FLUIR is designed for those who…
- Feel called to slow down and reconnect with a natural rhythm—physically, emotionally, and spiritually
- Crave a balance of movement and stillness through surf, yoga, and time in nature
- Are drawn to meaningful travel that feels intentional, embodied, and soul-nourishing
- Are open to ceremony, presence, and shared experiences that invite reflection and connection
- Are navigating a transition, reset, or desire for clarity and expansion
- Seek freedom, flow, and a sense of coming home to self
The venue
Villas Playa Maderas is an integral part of the FLUIR surf and yoga retreat experience. Nestled above the shoreline and surrounded by lush tropical jungle, the villas offer a rare sense of seclusion while remaining deeply connected to the ocean’s rhythm. Elevated just above sea level, the space invites perspective, spaciousness, and ease — the same qualities we cultivate throughout the retreat.
Each villa opens toward expansive ocean views, with private porches that encourage slow mornings, quiet reflection, and sunset pauses. A private pathway leads directly from the property to the sand, allowing movement between rest, surf, and ceremony to feel effortless and intuitive.
The yoga deck and meditation platforms are intentionally positioned to overlook the Pacific, creating a natural container for mindful movement, breathwork, and stillness. Whether flowing through a morning practice, sitting in meditation, or grounding barefoot on the earth, the environment supports presence and connection to body, to nature, and to the moment.
Designed for both comfort and simplicity, the villas provide modern amenities while preserving a sense of grounded living. Here, luxury is felt in space, silence, and the freedom to move with the day rather than against it.
Villas Playa Maderas holds the retreat gently, allowing FLUIR to unfold in its own natural rhythm — unforced, intentional, and deeply aligned with the land and sea.
Welcome to Playa Maderas
This consistent, year-round surf beach known for its forgiving beach break and relaxed, welcoming energy. With multiple peaks working at once, it comfortably supports all levels—beginners can ride whitewater throughout the day, intermediates find smooth green-wave takeoffs, and advanced surfers enjoy faster sections on larger swells, including the nearby point break. Offshore winds keep conditions clean, and even from the shore, watching the wave lines roll in is part of the magic.
Beyond the waves, Playa Maderas offers a balance of liveliness and seclusion. The beach naturally splits into two atmospheres: a central, social area with surf schools, beach bars, and restaurants, and a quieter, more untouched stretch near the iconic wave-shaped rock formation, perfect for long walks and solitude. The community is a warm mix of locals, expats, and travelers, with a friendly, respectful lineup and an unpretentious surf culture. It’s also considered very safe and easily accessible from San Juan del Sur, while still feeling wild and deeply connected to nature.
With its balance of lively connection and quiet, restorative spaces, Playa Maderas is the ideal setting for Fluir’s holistic yoga and surf retreat, supporting movement, nature, and presence.

Surf Lessons
Nelson, Surf Instructor
Nelson caught his first wave at 11 years old, after a tourist gifted him his very first surfboard — and he’s been surfing ever since. With 23 years in the water and 11 years of teaching experience, surfing has become much more than a sport for him: it’s a way of life.
A true shortboard lover, Nelson brings a calm, grounded presence into every lesson. When he’s not surfing, he enjoys spending time with his family or going fishing — often on his recently purchased bright pink and green panga.
At FLUIR, Nelson shares his experience with patience and care, supporting students in building confidence in the water while developing a genuine, respectful connection with the ocean.
