Some retreat brands begin with a clear business plan. FLUIR began with a meeting, a feeling, and a shared way of moving through the world.
FLUIR is rooted in embodied flow, intentional travel, and deep respect for place. The offerings are designed for those who crave more than a vacation — experiences that support nervous system regulation, meaningful connection, and a return to natural rhythm through movement, nature, and presence.
The Fluir surf and yoga retreat in Nicaragua is an invitation to slow down, reconnect with your body, and experience movement, rest, and nature as part of one integrated journey. Set where jungle meets ocean, the retreat offers space to breathe, to soften, and to return to what feels natural.
How FLUIR Was Born
Sara and Eleonora met in Sri Lanka during a full moon ceremony. Two Italian women living parallel lives in different parts of the world, drawn together by the ocean, yoga, and a shared sense of curiosity and openness.
They surfed together, practiced yoga side by side, and felt an immediate, effortless connection — the kind that doesn’t need explanation.
Months later, life brought them back together again in Nicaragua. This time, the conversations turned into something more tangible. What began as a shared dream slowly took form through grounded action, patience, and trust in timing.
From friendship, flow and trusting the rhythm of life.
A Philosophy of Flow and Presence
FLUIR is rooted in a simple philosophy: when we slow down enough to listen, rhythm reveals itself.
The surf and yoga retreat experience is guided by principles that remain consistent across every offering:
- Movement that supports regulation and embodiment
- Nature as an essential part of the experience
- Thoughtful pacing that allows both depth and rest
- Connection that unfolds organically, without pressure
Sara and Eleonora host all FLUIR surf and yoga retreats, supported by a carefully selected team of facilitators who are local to each destination and aligned with this approach. While future retreats may explore niche themes, new venues, and different locations, the essence of the experience remains the same.
The Signature Soul & Surf Retreat
The FLUIR Soul & Surf Retreat is a six-day journey designed to unfold naturally rather than rush from one activity to the next.
Set in Playa Maderas, the experience includes:
- Daily yoga practices, from grounding flow to yin, restorative yoga, and Yoga Nidra
- All-level surf sessions guided by trusted local surf instructors
- Holistic workshops and rituals, including cacao ceremony, sound bath, ecstatic dance, guided journaling, and wellness talks
- Spacious time for rest, reflection, and integration
Each element supports the others, creating a cohesive retreat experience that feels both nourishing and grounded.

Founded in Friendship
Sara — Yoga, Surf, and Embodied Presence
Sara is a Yoga Alliance–certified yoga teacher with over four years of teaching experience and has facilitated more than a dozen retreats in Nicaragua. She has taught yoga in Germany, Sri Lanka, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua, with her approach informed by ongoing study in breathwork, meditation, immersive practices, and a Vipassana retreat.
With years of experience as a surf instructor, Sara brings a deep understanding of ocean awareness and embodied flow. Sara supports guests in integrating the surf experience into the wider rhythm of the retreat — physically, mentally, and energetically.
Eleonora — Travel, Movement, and Thoughtful Design
Born and raised in Sicily, Eleonora holds a degree in Sport and Movement Sciences, grounding her work in the relationship between body, environment, and wellbeing.
Today, Eleonora works as an independent Travel Designer, creating experience-led journeys for individuals and small groups in destinations she knows intimately. Her emphasis on slow travel, local relationships, and thoughtful design shapes every retreat she hosts.
What brings Sara and Eleonora together is a shared way of seeing: that experiences don’t need to be packed full to be meaningful, and that transformation happens when there is enough space to feel safe, present, and unhurried.
Together, they hold the arc of the retreat — the rhythm of the days, the balance between structure and freedom, the quiet moments that often matter most. Supported by local facilitators, they guide the experience not as performers or gurus, but as steady anchors for the journey.
This is why the surf and yoga retreat feels less like an event, and more like being welcomed into a way of life. The rituals, activities and practices shared throughout the week can be incorporated into a daily practice, an invitation for guests to bring more flow and connection home with them.
Who This Retreat Is For
The FLUIR Soul & Surf Retreat is open to all genders, ages, and backgrounds, and is especially welcoming for solo travelers. No prior surf or yoga experience is required — only openness, curiosity, and a willingness to slow down.
This surf and yoga retreat in Nicaragua is well-suited for those seeking meaningful movement, time in nature, and space to reconnect with themselves in a supportive, grounded environment.
